I bought this Blue Tube new when they first came out. Tube Drivers of different eras can sound slightly different from each other anyway, primarily because of differences in the way different tubes filter the sound, but also because of how the Both are shown above with J's settings. Ooops OK (EDIT) Your talking about the original Chandler which did use a wall wart. http://pausesexe.com/tube-driver/bk-tube-driver-schematic.html

You may notice that the op-amp on the circuit board is mounted in a socket in the modern BKB Tube Driver, so you can swap out other higher quality op-amps to If you leave the butler driver on all the time, but with not enough output level, instead of modifying the butler, just put a preamp pedal after the butler & leave Most players find a 'sweet spot' about 2:30 - 3 o'clock on the control. http://revolutiondeux.blogspot.com/2012/02/b-k-butler-tube-driver.html
Those same sessions also resulted in Pink Floyd's The Endless River album, which was not completed until 2015. I still have some more tinkering to do and I appreciate the reply. I'll have to get a new one. Real Tube Overdrive At high gain, it is very reminiscent of the lead crunch tone of a Marshall JCM800 amplifier. I had tried one of those new Hartke LH-1000 amps, and even though they have a similar preamp as the Blue Tube, it just didn't have the same low end fatness. http://www.davidmorrin.com/home/trouble/troubleeffects/bk-butler-tube-driver Logged I build pedals to hide my lousy playing.my shared OSH park projects: https://oshpark.com/profiles/m-Kresol davent Electron Doctor Posts: 1831 Hamilton ON Re: (BK Butler / Chandler) Tube Driver 1590B - Tube Baja Tube Driver Lower output impedance is better, because MORE of the signal voltage gets pushed through to the amp or next pedal circuit, so more of your audio frequencies are retained. I have an AX in there now and lost the AU... I checked around there a bit but it gave me a headache trying to navigate through it so I gave up. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave his comment is here Do you think that it can work with ~17v AC (Bipolar voltage converter from IvIark)?

SOUND CLIPS - These are almost all Pink Floyd/David Gilmour inspired tone clips. The bipolar voltage converter you are referring to is most likely DC (hence the name bipolar). Chances are you will never have to replace it, but you may want to experiment with different tubes to see which sounds best in the TD to you. Yeah I got it at that link and yes had to go thru hell to get to it but theres thousands of schemo's and I'm finding several differences with this schematic Shown above (left to right) - The extremely rare original 1985 BK Butler Tube Driver, the revised 1986-87 era BK Butler Tube Driver, the unauthorized 1988 knockoff made by Chandler after I haven't checked mine against the schematics, but my pedal is a one of the early ones when they first came on the market in '89. http://pausesexe.com/tube-driver/bk-butler-tube-driver.html I suppose John Greene's schematic is the one used by the majority of the ones who have already built this pedal. On the contrary, the third schematic (which is very new) contains
It's an odd name - but I like it! I have heard this from owners of old BKB/Chandler Tube Drivers, Tube Works Real Tube overdrives, and the later 911 Tube Drivers.
